I wanted to use the damaged collective throttle, friction and switch mount I got out of a MD500.

I also wanted a safety switch that was paralleled with the potentiometer so that at full throttle it

switched on. My friend Jim dreamt up this little beauty and machined up all the parts. It fits inside

the Rotorway collective tube under the throttle grip. The collective tube was the same I.D. and

O.D. as the MD500 tube and was machined to match the MD500 tubes mounting slots and holes.

The front bearing cap has been removed for clarity. To the left is a small potentiometer of the same value. The shaft comes though the back and into a small universal joint that is connected to the origional 500 part which is mounted on two ball bearings. The two holes are for attaching the throttle grip.

As the throttle is twisted open, a small bearing hits a micro switch at full throttle. The switch contact    point is adjustable.

The toggle switch is for landing lights/ pulse lights and the push button on the end is for the starter.
